Unions
Key points:
  • Increase the minimum wage to $15.00 hr

  • Oppose all union-busting right-to-work laws

  • Promote card check legislation rules that make to easier for workers to organize

  • Provide incentives for companies that put workers on their corporate boards

  • Promote legislation to seal criminal records from employers after a significant period of time with no criminal justice system contacts.

Unions are more important than ever

We often take the gains made by unions on behalf of workers for granted today: the eight-hour workday, employer-backed health coverage, paid vacations, paid sick days, and safe workplaces to name a few. Today, even when the unionized workforce is much smaller than in previous decades, the children of union parents earn more when they grow up, as do children raised in neighborhoods with large numbers of union members. Whenever the rate of unionization in the US has risen in the past hundred years, the top one percent's portion of the national income has shrunk. Clearly unions are still vitally important. Here's some things I will fight for in the Delaware legislature:

  • Increase the minimum wage

  • Oppose all union-busting right-to-work laws

  • Promote card check legislation rules that make to easier for workers to organize

  • Provide incentives for companies that put workers on their corporate boards
